Review: CLC Pro Framer XC gloves
Especially for something that I know will be seeing a lot of action - I don't particularly care about it's 'style'. These are black and grey with some yellow stitching. They're built solid and ring in at about 25 bucks. I'm hoping they'll last through a good season of outdoor use and provide the protection I need at work, on the range and in the wild.

Good lookin gloves. Hardware stores have great options for the field and as you mentioned yard work and such. My personal preference is BMX gloves (although pricey). I had some old ones kickin around and use them all the time. Funny how the days I go without them I get cut up. Fine motor skills suck with them on but they serve a POU for sure. Apart from cuts and shock absorption, I like the idea of toxins going on the gloves and not my skin. In my opinion they are equally important as eye/ear protection.

I know you said that you went with these after going through some other pairs, but would you recommend these over what Mechanix has to offer?
I've been a big fan of Mechanix for a long time but I'm always looking for other options.

Wilson, I have had these, and I find them comparable in quality to Mechanix for less cost.
Also check out Grease Monkey gloves if you want insulated, rough duty gloves.

I just realized I had a pair of the hybrid ones for work. I purchased them at Refrigerative supply when working out in Winnipeg, they were alright, quite comfortable but the stitching along the index finger started to fail after a month or so. They ended up with electrical tape around them before two months. I'm fairly hard on my gloves I guess, but would have liked to have the stitching last a bit longer then what it did.
