one thing me and my girlfriend enjoy doing is making preserves.a couple weeks ago she pickled some carrots (yummy yummy) and this weeken we went on a day trip and picked a bunch of huckleberrys and also bought tons of blueberrys cherrys and some other fruits.we dried the blueberrys so they would hold.as well as a few hucklberrys but we mainly jammed our huckleberrys.froze other fruits and were planning on doing some sort of dry, long shelf life pemican from some of the dried berrys.anyone have a recipie?we found a few online that i will gladly post if theres any interest.let me know your thoughts?oh also ive canned moose meat (excelent for stew!!) and salmon.

I've never even thought about pickeling carrots before, and ive no idea what moose meat tastes like. I'd imagine it would taste like horse? Very lean and kinda stringy?
